Apart from environmental and social dimensions, sustainability is a business logic.

True, our products help reduce CO2 emissions, for example in Start-Stop applications in cars. Yes, our factories continuously reduce the consumption of natural resources. Sure, the vast majority of our facilities is certified according to ISO 14001. Indeed, we are working hard on innovations to improve our ecological footprint on our planet. To contribute to the quality of life for all of us. Right here, right now. And for generations to come.

But for a company the sweet thing is, sustainability makes business sense, too: Exide is one of the largest recyclers of secondary lead in the world. We have six battery recycling centers in the USA, three in Europe and one in New Zealand. Each single component of each single battery is recycled and used to create new products. Recycling has proven to be a tremendous economic success story and we plan for many more chapters in this book.
